Dan Gill graduated from Texas Tech University with a master's degree in Engineering, while Joey studied Accounting at Tech. They met while working for Clark Equipment, a major corporation in Lubbock Texas. Dan was an engineer traveling for the company, and Joey was the assistant to the comptroller. They were married in July, 1976.
Dan had the opportunity to further his career by designing oil rigs for a company in the south Texas town of Victoria, so Dan and Joey headed south. By now, Dan was a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas.
Dan and Joey opened a tiny 'Gold by the Gram' shop in Victoria, and thus began the history of Victoria's Fine Jewelry .
Both Dan and Joey have been very active with volunteer work. Dan has served as a director and president of the Chamber of Commerce, director of the Rockport Yacht Club, Treasurer of the Rockport Downtown Merchant's Association, and served four terms as Navigation District Commissioner. Joey has also been active in service as a director of the Rockport Art Association, Treasurer of the Aransas County 100 Club, director of the Chamber of Commerce and is very active in their church.
They have one son, Dan and daughter-in-law Marie, and in September of 2005, were presented with a darling Grandson Alex. Dan and Joey love to travel, and use every excuse to turn a jewelry show, seminar, or market into a trip. They have traveled to Hawaii, Hong Kong, East and West Coasts, Belize, Antigua, Turks and Caicos, Aruba, Tahiti and points in between, and hope that is just the beginning. But Rockport is their true love. The climate, salt water, the sea breeze combine with pristine beaches and fish filled bay to create a setting others only dream of. Dan and Joey live it every day. |

Judy Odom
Office Manager /Creative Director
Judy left a successful 12 year career in banking to join Victoria's Fine Jewelry in March of 1995. She was made a signer on the checking account just three weeks after starting, and before her 90 day probationary period was up had bonded with Joey and was helping her in all financial and banking matters. It was a bond that was to stand the test of time, as Joey and Judy remain best of friends.
Judy title is Office Manger, however her duties encompass much more. Her unique decorating ability keeps the showroom and jewelry displays looking fresh and inviting, earning her the designation of "Creative Director". She also attends many jewelry trade shows with Joey and is an important part of buying merchandise for Victoria's Fine Jewelry .
Judy is happily married to Steve, and has two handsome boys, Jon and Chris. Jon & his wife Jennifer blessed Judy with a beautiful granddaughter, Emily in 2004. Judy's family is rounded out with the addition of their Golden Retriever, Abbey. |
Jackie Shockley
Sales Associate
Jackie came to Victoria's Gold in May 1999 after a 25-year in the Auto Glass & Glazing business. During that time, she held several positions beginning as a Customer Service Representative, then on to Trainer, Disaster Coordinator, Regional Auditor and finally Regional Trainer.
Jackie married her high school sweetheart (Bill) and they have two sons, Raymond and William, and two beautiful grand children. Very active in community affairs, Jackie has been Chamber Chair for the Charmers, a member of Aransas County Leadership Class V, and is chairperson of the Gumbo Cookoff held each year during Seafair.
Having attended Hearts on Fire University for many years, Jackie is very knowledgeable about diamonds and wedding jewelry. She also does all the bead stringing and pearl knotting. Jackie says, "Working with customers and helping them choose that perfect piece of jewelry is a very good feeling." |

Pam Jordan
Sales Associate
A native of South Texas, Pam was born and raised in Aransas Pass and moved to Rockport in 1978. Before Pam's career in retail, she worked as a pharmacy technician for 10 years and a dental assistant for 17 years.
Her caring nature and love of jewelry make her a natural fit in our Victoria's Fine Jewelry family. Pam is an expert on Hearts on Fire Diamonds & bridal jewelry.
Today Pam spends her spare time planning a wedding for her oldest daughter Jordan, and enjoying her younger daughter Jessee's cheerleading and school activities. Being a single mom, Pam surrounds herself with many good friends and family. Friends and family-THAT SAYS IT ALL. |
Ashley Carroll
Sales Associate
Another South Texas native, Ashley was born in Aransas Pass & raised in Rockport. She graduated from Rockport-Fulton High in 2005 and is currently attending Southern Careers Institute.
When not attending classes, Ashley works part time for Victoria's Fine Jewelry . She is a member of the Master Dancers of South Texas and enjoys performing as well as teaching dance to children. |

Michael Oldham
Jeweler
Following Mike's Honorable Discharge from the U.S. Navy, he began his career as a jeweler apprentice for four years under one of Kay's Corporation's experienced jewelers. Mike was then fortunate enough to work along side a European trained jeweler that taught him invaluable skill and technique at the bench.
Mike came to Victoria's Gold & Gem's in December 2006, moving to South Texas from Hillsboro, New Hampshire. An avid outdoorsman, Mike is an accomplished hunter and fisherman and also enjoys hiking and rock climbing. He and wife Karen have three beautiful daughters, who are the light of his life.
With over 25 years experience in jewelry repair and fabrication, Mike is a powerful asset to the Victoria's Fine Jewelry family. |
Tamra Alaniz
Sales Associate
Tamra is yet another South Texas native. Born in Taft and raised in Rockport, Tamra graduated from Rockport-Fulton High School in 1997 and attended Delmar College. Tamra worked as a licensed insurance agent for 4 years, before finding her passion in retail.
Tamra's caring personality and strong desire to please others, coupled with her thirst for knowledge of the jewelry, makes her a great asset to the Victoria's Fine Jewelry family.
Tamra spends her free time with her four beautiful children, and stays very involved in after-school activities and family outings.
