"I like the color. It's fashion, it's precious, it's impressive, it has personal meaning, and you con hand it down for generations, it's lasting," says jewelry designer Richard Palermo. The varied tapestry of cultural life in New York City inspires Palermo's designs, along with the real women he sees when he rides the subway. Drawing upon a strong fashion sense, Palermo creates new collections for each season that tell a story by combining colored gemstones and precious metals to evoke a feeling of luxury.
During his decades-long career, Palermo has created designs on a freelance basis for Tiffany & Co., Cartier, H. Stern, and numerous other important design houses.
